These projects represent a clear pipeline ripe for investment, one that extends beyond extraction into significant processing capability.

The digital prospectus is an interactive tool that informs investors of the scale and scope of Australia’s critical minerals opportunities.

Australia’s critical minerals capability

Critical minerals are essential to technologies that underpin modern economies, from electric vehicles, batteries, solar panels and wind turbines to defence systems and digital infrastructure.

Few nations are better placed to supply them. Australia boasts some of the world’s richest critical minerals resources, a highly skilled workforce, world-class mining and processing expertise, and a stable, transparent investment environment underpinned by high environment, social and governance standards.

The Australian Government has made critical minerals a priority industry under its Future Made in Australia agenda. It is supporting the development of projects across the country to accelerate investment in the mining, processing and refining capabilities that will power future industries, build supply chain security and deliver on a net zero future.

This support includes a A$5 billion Critical Minerals Facility, a new production tax incentive and a Critical Minerals Strategic Reserve, to de-risk projects and connect them with capital and partners. Find out more about Australia’s financing pathways for critical minerals investors.

The Australian Government has strong bilateral and multilateral partnerships with the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the European Union, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and India to cooperate on critical minerals. The partnerships will help accelerate key projects, secure long-term commercial partnerships between signatories, and build diverse, resilient global supply chains.
