Toll Group invests A$210m in new Australian distribution facilities

Growing customer demand has spurred Toll Group to invest A$210 million in two new warehouse and distribution facilities in Australia.

The company will open a A$10 million healthcare warehouse and distribution facility in Queensland. The facility will be the fifth healthcare facility in Australia for Toll, the local subsidiary of Japan Post Holdings. It will also open a A$200 million automated retail distribution centre in western Sydney.

The two newly announced projects are part of a total A$400 million that Toll is investing in the Australian market over the next four years. These investments across facilities, fleet and technology will support customer growth in the region.

New A$10 million healthcare distribution facility

Toll will invest A$10 million over the next 10 years in a distribution centre to support the delivery of healthcare products to Queensland communities. The distribution centre features ambient and cool-room facilities including ultra-low freezers to store and distribute specialised vaccines.

The facility has been custom designed to support the requirements of customers including CSL and Queensland Health. It will store and manage pharmaceuticals, medical devices, vaccines and consumer health products. It will be the primary distribution centre of National Immunisation Program flu vaccines for Queensland Health in 2023.

The facility is licensed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration. It is the only healthcare facility in Queensland that is Good Management Practice certified.

Construction is due to start in August 2023. The facility is expected to be operational in 2025.
