Around half of our fresh milk is converted into 'drinking' milk for domestic and export customers. The rest is processed into a variety of manufactured dairy products which is used for many purposes. From premium milk, artisanal cheeses, and innovative dairy ingredients – Australian dairy farmers deliver products to meet the needs of buisnesses and consumers.

We are the 4th largest exporter of dairy in the world, exporting around one-third of our annual milk production in the forms of various manufactured dairy products.


Employment

The industry employs the equivalent of more than 70,000 full-time jobs, with 56% in regional areas.
